The client wanted a ceiling fan in a raised foyer that couldn't be reached by ladder. We installed scaffolding, removed popcorn ceilings, installed knockdown texture, and mounted the fan at a height that worked for both comfort and view. That meant precise downrod measurements and coordination with lighting and window mullions. It was a detail that required careful planning well before construction began.

Renovation Challenges and Problem Solving

As with many large-scale renovations in Calgary, this project presented several challenges that required experience, flexibility, and strong systems.

Early in the process, the homeowner-selected designer missed key deadlines, prompting a transition to one of our preferred designers just weeks before construction. Thanks to our preconstruction systems and close collaboration with the clients, demolition and framing were able to begin while final selections, pricing, and vendor coordination were still being completed.

During framing, the existing floor system revealed sags and humps in areas critical to custom millwork. These issues were carefully corrected to ensure level floors and precise installation.

After completion, a countertop material issue resulted in a cracked island slab. We put our warranty plan into action and got the issue resolved promptly.
